LG Electronics Inc. on Tuesday (4/24) held a conference at its newly built research complex west of Seoul. The conference aims to share achievements in the field of artificial intelligence technology (AI). The South Korean-based electronics giant held its LG InnoFest conference at LG Science Park for three consecutive days starting on Monday (4/23). LG invested about 4 trillion won (USD $ 3.7 billion) for the construction of an R & D center and a science park. The laboratory complex is said to have started operating last week.
LG previously said that the complex will accommodate 22,000 researchers by 2020. It starts with a staff of 17,000 people this year from three affiliated companies including LG Electronics Inc., LG Display Co. and LG Chem Ltd.
Now the latest news says that on this day at the conference LG invited potential business partners in Asia to visit the conference they organized. LG on the show is exhibiting a variety of household appliances and smart devices that have been injected artificial intelligence technology under the label ThinQ. In the conference, LG also features LG ThinQ V30S smartphone and ThinQ Speaker equipped with Google Assistant support.
According to LG, under the ThinQ label, they plan to continue to actively promote AI technology consistently. It is here that LG seeks to strengthen their relationships with potential global partners, who will be able to support, develop and strengthen LG’s efforts to develop its flagship product line based on AI technology in the future.
