This year the 5G era seems to have begun. Although not necessarily coming soon in Indonesia, at least 5G-based devices will likely come first. Samsung, LG, HTC, OnePlus, and Xiaomi have all confirmed at least one 5G device supported by Qualcomm.
Speaking at CES 2019 yesterday, as quoted by PULSA from Phonearena, chip developers from the US revealed that the actual number of 5G devices to come was actually much higher.
From several “global OEMs, it can be concluded that more than 30 smartphones with Qualcomm 5G chipsets will be released at the end of 2019.
Some of them will be in the form of modems as they are being developed by HTC for Sprint, but Qualcomm states that the majority are indeed smartphones. In other words, we will see a number of flagship smartphones powered by X50 and Snapdragon 855 modems.
This 5G device is expected to arrive at all major operators in the second half of 2019.
