Quite often rumored in the form of rumors, Xiaomi finally officially released the best selfie smartphone, the Redmi S2. Xiaomi explains that the ‘S’ in the abbreviation name ‘Selfie Series’ appears in Redmi S2 where this series once again start new sub-lines in the long list of smartphone releases.
Xiaomi confirms that the Redmi S2 is indeed made for selfie lovers and it is not surprising that the early half of the smartphone launch event was spent by Xiaomi’s team to describe the features of its self-cameras.
No wonder Xiaomi Redmi S2 staying will compete directly with OPPO A3 and Vivo Y85. That’s because Xiaomi compared the two with Redmi S2 and called it several times during the launch of Xiaomi Redmi S2.
Then how sophisticated the front camera of Xiaomi Redmi S2?
As a smartphone smartphone that is relying on selfie cameras, Xiaomi Redmi S2 is not only equipped with 16 MP front camera embedded, but also AI algorithm that lets users take photographs narcissistic with results that do not disappoint. That’s because AI technology is capable to perfect the photo itself. There are two main AI modes, Portrait AI and Beautification Mode AI (makeup) that users can choose to get maximum selfie photos.
For example, AI portrait mode can detect various aspects of selfie to obscure the area behind the object, so that the focus is right on the user’s face. Even if the user waves to the camera, AI is smart enough to ensure that the hand does not blur in the photo.

For the price, in China Xiaomi Redmi S2 variant RAM 3GB / ROM 32GB will be sold 999 Yuan (Rp 2.1 million). While the 4GB version of RAM / ROM 64GB will be sold for 1299 yuan (Rp 2.8 million). Xiaomi Redmi S2 is available in three color choices namely rose gold, platinum silver, and champagne gold.
