Yesterday (5/29) Apple officially released the latest iOS update iOS 11.4 and this iOS update brings predicted multi-room audio support that allows stereo pairing of Apple TV and HomePod.
With multi-room support, you can play the same music on multiple HomePods or Apple TVs in different rooms simultaneously. And you will be able to ask Siri to play the songs that are ordered from the device installed in the bedroom or in the living room.
Thanks to AirPlay 2 you will be able to add supported speakers to the Home app for use with HomePod. Stereo pairing allows you to play through HomePods simultaneously. And interestingly, Apple has developed algorithms to produce balanced sound.
In addition, you can ask Siri to make an appointment in the calendar feature. The update also brings the new iMessage feature, where you can request the iMessages that reads to you from any Apple device you own and delete the messages from one or all devices.
Both multi-room audio support and stereo pairing, is a feature that has long been owned by Google Home and Amazon Alexa. But anyway, this feature is obviously very important for Apple to develop smart devices such as HomePod and Apple TV.
The 2018 WWDC conference that Apple will hold, will begin next week and at the event Apple will introduce the latest version of iOS, iOS 12.
