Vivo officially announced a new variant of the V9 in India on 20 April 2018 ago. Dubbed the Vivo V9 Youth Edition, the new device connotes a more light, simpler, and cheaper-priced variant than the original Vivo V9 announced a few weeks ago.
Vivo V9 Youth Edition retains the design and some basic features of Vivo V9, but with some drops in important specifications like processor and camera features.
Vivo V9 Youth Edition carries the same design as the V9 featuring a unibody concept, a slim body with dual-rear camera placed vertically. In addition, this smartphone is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor, and screen bangs (notch) which is a place for the front camera (which supports AI Face Access feature that allows users to unlock the device), mic and other sensor range.
The device retains a 6.3 inch FHD + screen with 19: 9 aspect ratio, a 90% screen-to-body ratio.
In the performance sector, Vivo V9 Youth Edition uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 processor (not a Snapdragon 626 class processor like the original). The size of RAM remains the same, which is 4GB of RAM, but the size of the ROM has been reduced to just 32GB. But do not worry, because you can still expand the memory up to 256GB with microSD.
In the photography sector, Vivo V9 Youth Edition retains the rear dual-camera features with 16MP + 2MP respectively. As for the front camera decline in resolution compared with the original version of Vivo V9 24MP resolution. In Vivo V9 Youth Edition equipped with a single front camera with 16MP resolution supported by LED flash to support selfie shooting in dim conditions or minimal light.
Smartphones running the Android OS 8.1 Oreo feature the Funtouch OS 4.0 interface. The overall operation of this device is powered by a 3,260 mAh battery capacity. This smartphone is equipped with full connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS.
Vivo V9 Youth Edition has been available in online and offline retail stores in India in color choices Pearl Black and Champagne Gold set at 18990 rupees (Rp 3.9 million). But there is no information on whether this Youth Edition variant will also be available in other countries, and when it will be available in the international market.
